Save Whale Tail Project - Jervis Bay 2009

Event: Sea of Whale Tails - Jervis Bay Location: Lady Denman Heritage Complex Huskisson. Date: Saturday 6th June

Humpback Whales have started on their northern migration to warmer water and Marine Mammal Research .com invited all local schools and the community to be part of the ‘Sea of Whale Tails’ again this year for the Australia Wide IFAW NATIONAL WHALE DAY and to celebrate World Environment Day & World Ocean Day. The Jervis Bay community will support IFAW NATIONAL WHALE DAY by celebrating the importance of these marine mammals to Jervis Bay. Community members, school leaders and students from local Public School will help create “A Sea of Whale Tails”. Cut out, colour and decorate your tail. Everyone was welcome to place a whale tail at the Lady Denman Heritage Complex Huskisson to create the ‘Sea of Whale Tails’ art installation and celebrate the first birthday of Muriyira, our Shoalhaven Whale.
