Marine Explorer Expedition:
The recent MMR September 26 and 27 Marine Explorer Expedition was a great success.

Despite challenging weather conditions, 20 individuals braved the forecast, taking advantage of the protection offered by the Sapphire Coast and were handsomely rewarded with amazing close encounters with up to 25 humpback whales and four endangered southern right whales. Some last minute cancellations caused headaches for the organizers but provided extra deck space for the enthusiastic crew on board our vessel ‘Reel Affair’.

Despite the sometimes challenging conditions, everyone left the vessel with smiles on faces and memory cards full of incredible images waiting to be sorted. Sightings of feeding humpbacks continue to be reported with the ocaissional killer whale and southern right whale thrown in for good measure.

If this sort of action continues, next weeks Marine Explorers are in for a great trip, so be sure to have your camera batteries charged.

A quick reminder, this is an ocean going trip and the only thing we can guarantee is swell.
