During the 2007 whale migration, the Shoalhaven ‘adopted’ a humpback whale.
‘The Humpback Icon Project’ (HIP) coordinated by IFAW (International Fund for
Animal Welfare), aims to raise awareness for the conservation and protection of
whales and dolphins inhabiting Australian waters and to celebrate the annual
humpback whale migration.
Be part of the ‘Whale Naming Ceremony’ as we reveal the name of the Shoalhaven whale! at Voyager Park Huskisson. 
Then enjoy a Humpback Whale Watch with “ Jervis Bay Whales “ in Jervis Bay Marine Park with MMR’s Dr Michelle (Lemon) Blewitt as she presents ‘Sounds of the Sea”

SEA OF WHALES TAILS

NATIONAL WHALE DAY - June 14 Australia Wide
Organised by IFAW, the Jervis Bay community will support NWD with a celebration of the importance
of these marine mammals to Jervis Bay. Community members, school leaders and students from local Public School will help create “A Sea of Whales Tails” Cut out and colour, decorate your tail, everyone can place a whale tail at the Moona Moona Creek Park Reserve on Friday morning and the art installation will remain for the community to add more tails over the weekend.
